Gregory Ackerman

Gregory Ackerman is a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Los Angeles. His music sounds like the sunny coast he comes from; Indie-folk with a good dose of nostalgia. He writes about growing up, family, and togetherness, which is translated by his skillful guitar playing and harmonious vocal melodies.

Ackerman was born in South Pasadena, but as soon as he could, he sought out the Los Angeles scene. He found his way as a musician and made many meters as a singer-songwriter. Yet he never lost the connection with his childhood, and he translates the feelings of aging into beautiful indie folk, in which everyone can recognize themselves. This background can be heard quite explicitly on his latest EP 'Mhm Okay', which features some beautifully playful tracks, like 'Don't Know Why I Love' and 'Loving Hours', but also the warm and meditative 'See You Better', showcasing the range of the LA singer-songwriter. In 2024, Ackerman plans to release a new EP 'Brand New Life', which explores newfound love, as well as future prospects. The EP somehow manages to tend towards the nostalgic and vintage even further, feeling warm and comfortable all the way through.
