Challem

Challem, born in Zoeterwoude, is on a journey to discover life. His emotions, voice, movements, and reactions are translated by his piano playing. For Challem, the piano is an instinctive instrument to which his thoughts guide him and express himself through his playing. In 2022, Challem went on a bike tour of Scandinavia to limit his ecological footprint. His debut EPs Aparigraha and Santosha (Télès Music) have been critically acclaimed and generated cross-platform more than 10 million streams. Challem's highly anticipated debut album 'The Road' tells the story of the pianists search for a home, which led him to the Northern part of Spain, where he's working on his own home. Challem's two album release shows in Concertgebouw Amsterdam were sold-out, underscoring the composers status as one of the most exciting piano prospects, coming out of the Netherlands.

Pianist and composer Challem prefers to play 'in the moment'. He received his education at the Conservatory of Rotterdam. But it was mainly pianists Bert van den Brink and Joep Beving who challenged Challem to develop not only as a pianist but also as a person. His desire for freedom and search for himself brought him to Spain, and there too the music did not let him go. It resulted in his successful EP's Aparigraha and Santosha, as well as his highly anticipated debut album 'The Road'.
